When it comes to my morning routine, I’m sure I’m no different than many of you. There’s nothing I look forward to more than starting my busy day off with my favorite coffee. Although your craving may make the dent in your bank account easy to ignore, you may be looking past the fat and sugar content you’re consuming as well. Rather than giving up the best part of your morning routine, try these tips and Starbucks recipes for a treat that doesn’t consume all of your daily calories!

  • Tip #1: Trade-in your half n half for oat milk, almond milk, or coconut milk. Experiment with different combinations to find a mix of sweetener and nut-based creamer that you enjoy.

  • Tip #2: Substitute your sugar packets for stevia, agave, or honey. These sugar substitutions are natural and light. Sugar-free options are great if you are watching your calorie count.

  • Tip #3: Rather than ordering a latte, which contains a large portion of milk, try ordering a black coffee or a double shot of espresso with a splash of your choice of milk.

From these tips, here are some other easy coffee blends to try out!

  1. “Almond Joy” in a cup:

    1. Cold-brew with 2 pumps of skinny mocha sauce and coconut milk

  2. Keepin’ It simple:

    1. Iced coffee with 2 pumps of sugar-free vanilla syrup and a splash of almond milk

  3. Refreshing:

    1. Shaken iced green tea with dried strawberries

  4. Creamy goodness:

    1. Nitro cold brew with light sweet cream

  5. Latte lovers:

    1. Almond milk latte with stevia- hold the whipped cream!
