Game Day Snacks

It's so many people's favorite time of year -- football season. Between actually watching the games, spending time with family, the occasional mid-day nap, or the game day snacks, there's something for everyone!

Although the typical wings, pizza, sliders, and hoagies are delicious...if you'd like to add a few healthier options into the mix, you've come to the right place.

Zucchini Tots

This is the perfect side dish to serve alongside some of your favorite main dishes.

Instead of using shredded potatoes, you'll start with shredded zucchini. You'll also want to make sure that you squeeze as much liquid out of the zucchini as possible. Once you've done that, add egg, bread crumbs, and whatever seasoning blend you like.

A classic mix for this dish includes cheese, Italian seasoning or ranch seasoning.

Once all mixed together, start forming small, flat circles for each tot. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 425 degrees.

When ready to serve, a great dip is gochujang ketchup!

Caprese Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

This will be the easiest, tastiest grilled cheese you've served at a gathering - we promise!

Brush the outside of each slide of bread with oil and spread the basil pesto on the inside slices. From there, you'll place the mozzarella on one piece of bread, topping that with tomato. Before cooking, feel free to season to your liking.

Grill in a pan on medium heat. You'll know when it's done when the bread is golden brown on both sides and the cheese is fully melted.

Avocado Salsa

Who doesn't love chips and dip?!

For this recipe, you'll need 2 large avocados, lime juice, 1 jalapeno pepper, 1 plum tomato, 1/4 red onion, and cilantro.

You'll want to dice everything up finely so it can be scooped easily. Once mixed together, salt to taste and enjoy!
